We don't just feed, we get to know each and everyone and their personalities.
We also do the cleaning,brushing, training etc.

In 2014 she decided that becoming a rescue and sanctuary could expand her dreams and help out so many donkeys and mules in need. She has helped so many find loving homes, given sanctuary to many that needed a place to stay and feel safe, doctored them back to health, earned the trust , and participates in the TIP to help wild burros get properly trained and find wonderful homes.

Micha is a dedicated young lady, who helps with the everyday life of her family's ranch. Not only is she an amazing TIP trainer but is a fantastic mule trainer. Micha will be attending UA to follow her passions in the veterinary science.

Jacque Ashburner!
Jacque is a dedicated young woman and Micha's twin sister. She helps with the everyday ranch life and is a major help with problem animals. She is a top youth TIP trainer and will be showing everyone what she is able to do in the adult classes in the future. Jacque also opened up her training program Called Ears to the Sky Training and Art.

Our long time volunteer is irreplaceable!
Diane started volunteering when we were located in Alpine AZ and has stuck with us all the way to McNeal AZ. She has helped us with bottle babies, old animals, feeding and pretty much everything we could ask for she is there. On top of all of this she helps create the awesome costumes needed for the Lucky A girls and TIP challenge donkeys

This awesome young lady, is one of our volunteers! Isabella comes out once a week to help us out doing the little things. Isabella helps brush the donkeys, clean pens, give treats and take them for walks. She is also very helpful in earning trust from new arrivals.

This young man, is one of the best around! Sam goes to high school with Jacque, has his own bee business, is a big part of the FFA, and now is a volunteer here at the ranch! We are so lucky to have him join the Lucky A Team.

While Jacque believes in pen work she also believes in getting these animals outside of their comfort zones by taking them out and about to gain confidence.
Teaching these long eared animals how to place in trust their rider is the number one goal for the ones that are approved tall or stout enough to carry a rider.
Meet Jacque Ashburner
She is part of the family team that runs the Lucky A Ranch. Having proven herself in the youth training competitions then the adult ones through the BLM, this young women graduated highschool and started her own training program for donkeys.
Jacque trains many things from basic ground work, tricks, packing, driving, and starting undersaddle.
Jacque helps the Lucky A with problem donkeys and sometimes mules that come to the ranch or are sent to her privately. The first thing she does is give them time to decompress and then start ground work.
While ground work is a fundamental need having fun is a necessity for mental growth and a break from work.
